Atlanta - GRAMMY Nominee Reception

The Atlanta Chapter saluted the 54thGRAMMY nominees from Georgia during a VIP media opportunity and celebration on January 24.  For the 4thyear in a row, W Atlanta-Downtown Hotel hosted the red carpet affair, which was full of enthusiasm, and the strong unity of our Georgia music community. Many of this year’s nominees, including Michael Brant DeMaria, Louie Giglio, Jamie Grace Harper, Canton Jones, Laura Story, Phil Tan and Miles Walker walked the red carpet and spoke with the many local & national media outlets.  During the day,  Georgia Music Day was held at the Capitol so the press was not only excited about the nominees but also finding out more about the legislation regarding a future music tax incentive similar to the one that is in place for television and film industry.  Over 200 VIP invited guests, including past GRAMMY winners, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Coy Bowles and John Hopkins of Zac Brown Band, Brandon & Kristian Bush of GRAMMY winning band Sugarland; Atlanta Housewives’ Phaedra Parks, songwriter, Kendrick Dean producer, Chuck Leavell, touring drummer for the Rolling Stones and Allman Brothers  and  Will Turpin and Dean Roland of Collective Soul and Elton John’s new talent, Riley Biederer, vocal producer, Jan Smith others attended making the fourth floor ballroom a perfect place to mix and mingle with their peers.   The reception and ceremony to celebrate Georgia's GRAMMY nominees was another banner year with area artists, writers, producers and engineers represented in 18 categories for music's most coveted award.  We were honored to have and Chairman Emeritus and Music Industry Icon, Jimmy Jam and South Regional Director, Susan Stewart in attendance.  Senior Executive Director, Michele Caplinger toasted the current GRAMMY nominees and recognized all of the nominees from the Georgia area. Nominees, sponsors and invited guests took pride in recognizing and celebrating Georgia's GRAMMY nominees. 

This star-studded event was sponsored by BLT Steakhouse, City National Bank, Microsoft Store, TLC Rents and W Atlanta Downtown.  Nominees were also gifted with celebrity gift bags.
