LA Film School hosts PENSADO LIVE! Mixfest

Audio professionals both novice and experienced gathered at the Los Angeles Film School on Saturday November 12 to attend the first ever Pensado LIVE! professional development and networking event.  Hosted by talent manager and industry veteran Herb Trawick, the hands-on demonstration and panel series catered to a packed auditorium of approximately 300 guests eager to gain insight, tips and tricks from legendary mixer Dave Pensado.  Attendees traveled from as far as Australia and Portugal to participate, and left the event with an audio goodie bag that included a USB drive containing the demonstration session files.  Attendees were encouraged to use the drive to try out on their own workstations what they’d observed during the demonstrations, and to then submit their mixes (post-event) to a contest judged by Pensado.  Other topics of discussion included workflow organization, hardware and software uses, monitoring, mixing for multiple formats, and ways to maintain a living working in audio.  Guest speakers included Eric Valentine and Jean Marie Horvat. The Producers & Engineers Wing contributed both P&E Wing/House Research Institute co-branded earplugs and Academy membership information for attendees on-site.
