Nashville - Brenda Lee Exhibit At The Country Music Hall Of Fame

One of the most incredible things about Nashville, besides the music and scenery, is the people. It has a small town feel with a big city flare. Nashvillians are warm and friendly. Another special thing about this great city is that Brenda Lee lives here! Yes, you read that correctly. THE Brenda Lee! Famous for her hits “Sweet Nothin’s,” “I’m Sorry,” “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” and “All Alone Am I” just to name a few.
This leads me to the “Nashville Chapter staff” adventure we had on March 4. Brenda called and invited us on a private tour of her exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Our tour guide was the one-and-only Little Miss Dynamite! Let me speak for everyone by saying, “Wow!”
With her Southern charm and wit, Brenda gave us a “proper” tour of her exhibit. As she led us through, we all followed behind paying attention to every word. We were amazed by stories of what it was like for her to meet AND know entertainers like Patsy Cline, Judy Garland, Elvis Presley and Red Foley. We saw a display case full of Brenda’s awards (along with her GRAMMY award), memorabilia, photographs of her with Queen Elizabeth II and so much more. The best part was seeing museum guests (while listening to their radio headset) turn and see Brenda Lee standing right next to them. Incredibly gracious as always, Brenda took time to talk and take a picture with each fan that came up to her.
The exhibit was very well done! If you haven’t been by the Country Music Hall of Fame, you definitely need to check it out. It’s a must see!
I thought it would be appropriate to end this blog with a quote from John Lennon in reference to Brenda Lee. He said, "She has the greatest rock and roll voice of them all."
