New York - GRAMMY SoundChecks with Taylor Swift

On Wednesday evening, May 12, the New York Chapter brought a lucky group of GRAMMY U and high school students to a GRAMMY SoundChecks with Taylor Swift, which took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, where Taylor was wrapping up her Fearless Tour.
When we arrived, we were escorted into the bowl, where we were able to sit right up in front of the stage and check out the setup of the show. After meeting Taylor's publicist, we were introduced to Taylor's mother, Andrea Swift (Mama Swift) who spoke to the group about Taylor's upbringing, songwriting and the experience of being on tour with Taylor and her band. Soon thereafter,
Taylor emerged onstage and performed "Love Story" for us, complete with band, dancers, lights and choreography. When the number was over, Taylor and her band sat down with us and answered questions from the group and spoke about how they all came together and life on tour. At the very end, Taylor performed another song and really rocked out onstage, singing and speaking to us during the breaks. She was incredibly sweet, genuinely happy to be there with us and despite her huge stardom, seemed to be still a little bit in awe of her own fame.
We all had an amazing time getting to hear, meet and catch a few photos with Taylor. It was an unforgettable afternoon!
