New York - GRAMMY U: Meet The Pros

On Wednesday night, GRAMMY U in New York hosted an amazing event called Meet The Pros!  Three of our NY Board Members: Nicki Richards, Scott Jacoby and Lauren Kinhan came in to do presentations for a group of our GU students about their careers and to provide advice for up-and-coming aspiring music professionals!  The night was amazing and intimate; it started off with some networking amongst the students and board members, as well as some snacking on burritos, guacamole and chips from Chipotle!  

Each presenter spoke casually and honestly to our members about their own career path, what he or she thinks are the most important elements of working in the music industry today, and things they've learned about making mistakes and staying true to yourself.  The presentations also featured pictures and original music!  We followed up with a Q&A period that was completely candid and interactive.   Our members asked fantastic, specific questions and because of the intimate atmosphere, were not shy to ask what they really wanted to know! Almost all of the students who attended were able to get involved, ask personal questions and discuss their own career paths with the panel. 

Even when the official Q&A period ended, the night was not over- the networking continued, and Nicki, Lauren and Scott stayed to chat one-on-one with each and every student who wanted to introduce themself!
