T-Mobile/ Rock Band Network Connect Present: The Creators Club Workshop Tour – How to Get Your Music into the Game

November 9 & 10, 2010

T-Mobile Rock Band Network Connect™ presented a series of comprehensive, professional education and networking workshops across major markets in the United States. Each event connected music and game industry professionals with the recently launched Rock Band Network content initiative and introduced them to the unique authoring process involved in creating downloadable content for the music video game ROCK BAND.

The free event provided a general understanding of this exciting new opportunity. Each workshop presented an overview of the Rock Band Network and looked at some of the related new features recently launched for ROCK BAND 3. It demystified the authoring process and its tools, showed the workings of the content approval pipeline and provided some insights to those looking to invigorate their businesses by bridging the music and game spaces.

The night kicked off in rock ‘n’ roll style with the members (and the chapter staff) playing ROCK BAND and having some hang time. Once everyone had their turn at gaming, Jeff Marshall, Executive Producer of RBN talked about what RBN means to music professionals and the “community” that they become a part of.

Jeff’s presentation was followed by label professionals, moderated by Gregory J. Gordon from Pyramind, as they talked about the importance of band notoriety of becoming part of the network and the game itself.

The evening closed with a broad strokes overview of the Authoring Process with Pyramind’s authoring specialist, Jeff Schmidt. Jeff talked about creating your stems and using Reaper, Magma, and online tools for converting music tracks into a gameplay-ready file.

Simply…AMAZING!
