The P&E Wing gets Up Close & Personal with Alex Da Kid, Skylar Grey & DJ Skee

Approximately 150 members gathered at The Recording Academy’s Santa Monica headquarters on September 28 to attend Up Close & Personal with Alex da Kid & Skylar Grey, presented by the P&E Wing and the Los Angeles Chapter, and sponsored by Guitar Center and 901 Tequila. Following a reception that included made-to-order quesadillas and a selection of 901 Tequila cocktails, moderator DJ Skee led a lively conversation with 2010 GRAMMY®-nominees, producer Alex Da Kid and singer/songwriter Skylar Grey.  In a P&E Wing first, the event was made available to the GRAMMY365.com community via live stream as the night’s featured duo gave insight into their respective creative processes and offered observations on today’s music industry.  Post-discussion, Skylar took to the keys to perform a four-song medley highlighting her most familiar work including the hooks for Eminem and Dr. Dre’s “I Need A Doctor,” and P. Diddy’s “Coming Home.”  The live stream ended after the performance, but the in-house audience got to enjoy an exclusive Q&A session with the three panel participants, as well as a post-show meet and greet.
