A week-long series of events leads up to Music’s Biggest Night®. Celebrating the Producers & Engineers Wing 10th anniversary, “Shaken, Rattled & Rolled” kicked off GRAMMY® Week on February 9, transforming the studios of West LA’s The Village into what one attendee described as “Disneyland.” It was an evening full of friends, food, cocktails and fun as the recording community gathered to honor the musical accomplishments of multi-GRAMMY-winning musician/producer T Bone Burnett. Guests began the night sampling hors d’oeuvres and cocktails in an arrivals tent that featured live bluegrass quintet The Get Down Boys. Also in the tent, Acura, the official vehicle partner of the 53rd GRAMMY Awards, featured the ZDX crossover, showcasing its ELS audio system designed by P&E Wing founding member Elliot Scheiner. Guests then made their way into the venue to find a plethora of specialty food and beverages hosted in the various studio spaces throughout the building—including but not limited to margaritas and chiles relleños, hand-rolled sushi, and custom eco-friendly cocktails by VeeV. On site gear demos and a T Bone Burnett musical retrospective entertained guests as they traveled through the rooms in the multi-story Village. Later in the evening, Recording Academy President Neil Portnow presented Burnett with the President’s Merit Award and Burnett enthralled the crowd with his comments about the importance of great sound. The presentation concluded with a performance by Nashville’s Secret Sisters.
