Philadelphia Chapter Welcomes Caitlin Vivian As GRAMMY U Representative

Hello! I’m your brand new GRAMMY U Representative for the Philadelphia Chapter, Caitlin Vivian. I’m currently attending Temple University for Broadcast, Telecommunications, & Mass Media after receiving my Associate’s degree in Sound Recording & Music Technology from Community College of Philadelphia. While I don’t study performance, it is something I have always had fun doing. I have played keyboards and sung for a couple of area bands in the past few years and it always gives me a thrill.

Music isn’t just a job or something to study for me. I have a deep passion for music that has always run through every single strand of my life. As silly as it may sound, I even make up songs while I’m riding my bike (which I’m sure has garnered more than a few strange looks from people I bike by). I listen to music as soon as I wake up, as much as humanly possible while I go about my day and before I go to sleep. If I listen to a song and want to play it, I immediately pull out my keyboard and figure it out. I can never stop thinking about music. Being able to help students just like me access valuable information to help their love of music reach a new level is a dream come true.

This school year, I want to work on building even closer relationships with schools. I believe our presence on campus needs to be more visible. As members, you already know the fantastic, invaluable opportunities that membership provides you, but most people I meet don’t know who we are. And they’re not going to find us unless we are getting out there and are visible. I also want to hear what you want to see happen. A big focus of mine will be on making sure that we are providing you with opportunities that YOU find valuable and interesting. I would absolutely love to hear about any suggestions on how we can better go about doing this on your campus.
