San Antonio Sabor!

On June 16, the Texas Chapter and The Latin Recording Academy presented In The Mix: San Antonio at the iconic Cadillac Bar. GRAMMY winner El Guero and a number of Texas Chapter Board members were at the event to mix and mingle with Chapter members. El Guero welcomed fellow music makers and shared a few words about how becoming involved with The Recording Academy as a member, whether it be Voting, Associate, or GRAMMY U, is beneficial to all that take advantage of what membership benefits have to offer.

Livys Cerna, Project Manager for the Latin Recording Academy, shared information and deadlines for the upcoming Latin GRAMMY Awards. Texas Chapter staff were on hand to provide information about dual membership, which is membership with both NARAS and LARAS, for members whose work is 51% in Spanish or Portuguese and distributed in the United States as well as other countries. Dual membership is the same price as regular membership, if a person qualifies, and allows the member to participate in both the regular and Latin GRAMMY Awards process. The Texas Chapter was very fortunate to have Latin Recording Academy representation at the event to meet with Latin music professionals in the San Antonio-area.

Guests also enjoyed music, appetizers, cocktails and the opportunity to network with other Chapter members.  Attendees had the opportunity to win door prizes which included Latin GRAMMY t-shirts and beanies. The evening was a great way to escape from the San Antonio heat for a chill evening with El Guero and the Texas Recording Academy community.
