San Francisco Chapter Board Service

Are you a leader in your local music community? Are you committed to the professional goals of The Recording Academy? Are you interested in serving the music community along with a dynamic group of other Academy leaders? If this describes you, we encourage you to submit an application to be considered as a San Francisco Chapter Governor.

In recruiting applicants for nomination by the Chapter’s Nominating Committee, the San Francisco Chapter is committed to achieving diversity of genre, gender, age and ethnicity.

What are the responsibilities? Simply put, Recording Academy Chapter Governors chart the course for their Chapters. Additional responsibilities include attendance at board meetings, committee service and membership outreach. Governors serve two-year terms and may run for re-election once before having to step down for one year.

What is the process for getting on the ballot? The Nominating Committee will select two candidates from each membership category and candidates from Voting and Associate categories to run “At-large.” The Nominating Committee - comprised of current San Francisco Chapter Governors, Officers, Trustees and other Governor Representatives - has the sole discretion in the selection of candidates.

Entry Process: To submit yourself for consideration to the San FranciscoChapter Board, fill out the Governor Candidate Form here: The submission deadline is: Friday, February 1, 2013.

Please keep in mind that submitting a form does not guarantee that you will be included on the ballot. Each Chapter Nominating Committee reviews all applications for their respective Chapter and decides on the best candidates to present to their membership.
