Want to have your songs heard? Want to win some awesome prizes? GRAMMY U Texas invites you to Show Us Your Hits! Mark your calendars for this special opportunity and get your song ready!
GRAMMY U students will have the chance to submit their best songs via Indaba website, and a panel of judges will select the top 5 best submissions. The top 5 will have the chance to perform their song for the live panel at the Gibson Guitar showroom, receiving personal critiques of their song from the judges. The judges that night will choose the overall best songwriter, who wins a grand prize designed to help the songwriter further their craft. This prize package includes a strategic consultation with Juice Consulting, LLC whose clients include Gloria Gaynor, Willie and the Wheel, Erykah Badu, Texas Tornados, and the Houston Symphony to name a few! The grand prize winner also gets a feature on the Texas Chapter’s GRAMMY365 webpage and a graphic design package from Dick Reeves Design!

In order to register for free membership, check your inbox for an email from GRAMMY Member Services which includes your exclusive GRAMMY U promotional code.
Deadline: Submissions will be accepted from 12:00 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2011 until 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Confirmation emails will be sent with each submission. Songwriters can submit several songs, but only one entry may be selected for the top 5 submissions.
RSVP: If you are not ineterested in participating as a contestant, but would still like to attend the event for the educational songwriting component, please RSVP to grammyutexas@grammy.com by Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 6 p.m.
Fine print: Students interested in this contest must be members of GRAMMY U. All who submit a song must plan to be in Austin, TX on November 29, 2011. Participants will not be reimbursed for their travel and lodging expenses. One acoustic Gibson guitar, one guitar amp, two microphones, a PA system, and one keyboard will be provided for winning submissions to perform in front of the audience and panel. Students also have the option of bringing a CD with an instrumental of their song if these instruments cannot be used for their songs.
