San Francisco – San Francisco Supervisor Candidates Forum

September 27, 2010 - 6:00pm - 9:00pm

The Advocacy Committee of The Recording Academy San Francisco Chapter and the California Music and Culture Association (CMAC) are proud to host a San Francisco Supervisors Candidates Forum at Yoshi’s San Francisco.

San Francisco Supervisor Candidates Forum

Due to the large number of candidates, The Recording Academy San Francisco Chapter and CMAC invited each candidate to complete a questionnaire, which will be available on each organization's respective websites and at the event.  We do reserve the right to select up to three candidates from each supervisorial district to participate in the candidates forum this fall.  Candidates who complete and submit their completed questionnaire, adhere to the listed requirements, and meet The Recording Academy and CMAC's criteria may be invited to participate in the forum. (See below for criteria.)

2010 Supervisor Candidates Forum Selection Criteria

The Recording Academy San Francisco Chapter (The Recording Academy) and the California Music and Culture Association (CMAC) reserve the right to engage and invite up to three candidates per supervisorial district race to its 2010 election related activities based on access to candidate information, ability to meet deadlines and requirements set by the aforementioned organizations, and relevance and completeness of responses.

A candidate must demonstrate that he/she meets all the following criteria as of August 27, 2010 to be eligible to participate in the September 27 candidates’ forum:

  • Access to information/campaign webpage:  The candidate must have a campaign website searchable via the World Wide Web.  Password controlled Facebook campaign pages do not count, though non-password controlled and publically viewable Facebook campaign pages do meet this requirement.  The Recording Academy and CMAC want to ensure that members of their respective organizations can access candidate credentials and information expediently and easily.
  • Organizational Endorsements:The candidate must have earned the endorsement of at least three citywide or neighborhood-based organizations that have been in existence for at least one calendar year since the 2010 general election filing deadline, Friday, August 6 (since August 6, 2009).
  • Elected Official Endorsements:  The candidate must have earned the endorsement of at least three former or currently serving elected officials representing the City and County of San Francisco at the local, state, or federal level (Examples: former Mayor Willie Brown, Assembly member Fiona Ma).
  •  Previous participation:  The candidate must have been invited and participated themselves (not by proxy or surrogate) in at least two candidate forums conducted by a citywide or neighborhood-based organization that has been in existence for at least one calendar year since the 2010 general election filing deadline, Friday, August 6 (since August 6, 2009)
