The Chicago Chapter, in partnership with The GRAMMY Foundation, hosted a GRAMMY SoundCheck with Island Records recording artists Fall Out Boy on June 11, 2007, at Charter One Pavilion in Chicago, Ill. The event gave approximately 25 GRAMMY U members a chance to go behind the scenes of a nationally touring live act.  The session began with the students watching the band sound check as Chapter staff answered questions and filled the students in on all the intricacies involved in a sound check.

After the sound check, the students attended an intimate 30-minute question and answer session moderated by Kyle Ryan (Editor, The Onion A.V. Club), with band members Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman, and Andy Hurley. The group discussed how they got their start in the music industry, how they find inspiration for their unique style of music, what it is like to be from Chicago, and the ups and downs of life on and off tour.
