GRAMMY U had its own station/tent within the Media Center at Austin City Limits Music Festival for the Texas Chapter’s 2nd Backstage View With GRAMMY U. 3 GRAMMY U student members had the chance to interview artists and bands performing at ACL Festival, and 1 additional student had the opportunity to film and edit the interviews that will be posted on GRAMMY365. To select these lucky students, the Chapter held a contest amongst GRAMMY U student members. Those wishing to be an interviewer submitted video samples, which could be past interviews they’ve conducted or mock interviews, and students interested in filming submitted up to 3 samples of their camera and editing skills.
Artists interviewed on day 1 at this year's festival included Sara Hickman, Brady Rymer, Ruby Jane, Electric Touch, Hudson Moore, Gary Clark, Jr., Theophilus London, Ha Ha Tonka, Sara Bareilles, City & Colour, Elizaveta, Wax, Marketa Irglova, The Moondoggies, Cowboy and Indian, The Antlers, Tyler Bryant, Cut Copy, Nakia, Nick 13, Chiddy Bang, Elbow, Broken Social Scene, Gomez, Mariachi El Bronx, The Kingston Springs, Abigail Washburn & The Village, Hayes Carll, Jack Ingram, and Kat Edmondson.
