Previous wins: Gotye's three GRAMMY wins this year marked the first wins of his career. 

Did you know?: Gotye was among the big winners at the 55th GRAMMY Awards with three GRAMMYs, tying the Black Keys, Jay-Z, Skrillex, and Kanye West. In addition to his two wins for "Somebody That I Used To Know," Gotye also won Best Alternative Music Album honors for Making Mirrors, an album mainly recorded on a MacBook Pro and a quarter-inch tape machine featuring instruments such as a Salvation Army-bought organ. New Zealand native Kimbra is featured on "Somebody That I Used To Know" and picked up the first two GRAMMYs of her career. The video for the song has garnered more than 375 million views on YouTube. Gotye was born Wouter de Backer in Bruges, Belgium, and currently resides in Australia.
